DESCRIPTION:This is our first Scout meeting of the fall.  Class A uniforms\, 7:30 to 9:00 pm at the Norwood Elementary school cafeteria. \nWe will be working on finishing up Family Life Merit badge\, and I have a message from Mr. Olson\, your merit badge counselor. \nI hope all is well for those working on the Family Life Merit Badge.  Over the Summer you should have been tracking your chores (five minimum) and working on those two projects benefiting your family.  I intend to review chore tracking sheets and project outcomes with Scouts starting the week of September 18th\, or 13 weeks after we started the merit badge.  If you started your tracking a week or two after we had the discussion at the Troop meeting\, that is ok and we will handle that on a case-by-case basis.  Thank you\, Mr. Olson

SUMMARY:Blydenburgh Overnight Camping Trip
DESCRIPTION:Unfortunately\, the usual place we go to is closed\, so we are going to do the bike campout at Blydenburgh County Park this weekend.  It will be Saturday morning to Sunday morning.  The cost will be $15 per youth for food\, and the adults staying with us are free.  There will be a separate email about this with all the details.  I will need an adult leader to stay with me for this trip. \nScan PDF: >>> Blydenburgh Park <<< \nDirections Google Maps: >>> Blydenburgh Park<<< \n\nImportant\, I need a count of who is going camping by this Wednesday evening.\nThe Blydenburgh Camping trip is this next weekend.  I will need a count on who is planning on coming along by this Wednesday evening.  Please get back to me by then to let me know if your boy is coming along\, and adults are welcome to come along also.  I need a count for purchasing the food at BJs on Thursday evening.\nThis is a bike campout\, so the boys can bring their bikes along.  Don’t forget your helmets and any other gear you might want.\nWe will probably have the opportunity to work on Search and Rescue merit badge this weekend.  If your boy is interested\, we will probably be able to satisfy some of the requirements on the camping trip\, and resolve the rest of them at our meetings.\nLet me know when you respond if your boy is interested in working on the search and rescue merit badge.\nApparently Cathedral Pines is closed for a while so we arranged for this camping at Blydenburgh Camp grounds in Hauppauge.  You take 347 west into Hauppauge\, and just past the 454 merge is the camp on the right hand side.  There is a map of the camp grounds attached to this email.  We are staying in the Wolf 2 camping area.\nI may need help with driving the boys to and from next weekend.  Please let me know if you can help with one or both trips.\nThe troop supplies the tents for the boys\, food\, and eating supplies.  The boys need to bring their sleeping gear\, clothes\, personal gear and flashlights for an overnighter.
