SUMMARY:Cathedral Pines Camping Trip w/ a Search & Rescue Merit Badge weekend
DESCRIPTION:We are planning a campout at Cathedral Pines this weekend. \n$20.00 per boy for the food for the weekend\, they should bring their bikes and helmets\, and we will be doing a Search and Rescue MB program. \nWe will be running a Search and Rescue merit badge program on the campout.  There is a flier attached about the plans. \nThe boys can bring their bikes and helmets\, and maybe pads if they wear them on the dirt trails.  There are many dirt bike trails around the park. We may need help transporting the bikes. \nWe are camping overnight\, and  we will shop for food for the campout at BJs on Thursday evening 6/1 at 7:30 pm.  This will take about an hour. \nFor those boys new to the campouts\, the troop supplies the tents.  The boys should bring their sleeping bags\, and a cushion to sleep on.  They don’t need much in the way of clothing because it will probably be warm\, but maybe a sweatshirt for at night\, and one change of clothes\, and some clothes to sleep in\, poncho and flashlight. \nWe will go to Cathedral Pines in Middle Island after the Calverton flag pickup\, campout overnight\, and come home late Sunday morning\, or maybe early Sunday afternoon depending on the Search and Rescue plans. \nFor those that have other things going on\, this campout is convenient because it’s close\, and the boys can come and go as needed to make their other activities. \nBut remember we will be doing a Search and Rescue MB (click here for more info SARMeritBadgeFlyer ) program that the boys will need to be there for to complete the badge if they are doing that. \nIf the boy is not there for the events\, they might not be able to finish the badge that weekend.

DESCRIPTION:Coming up on Saturday\, April 29\, 2017 at the Longwood Estate in Ridge we will be holding our annual Cubs for Cubs event from 10am-4pm.  In the past we’ve asked the packs to attend as well as to run a booth which unfortunately prohibited parents from spending time at the event with their sons.  This year we wanted to ask our troops to provide a few members to run the activities that day.  We’re not looking for full troop participation but only 2 or 4 boys and adults to run an activity.  The district has put together a list of the activities we’re looking to do and we will provide the materials necessary to run it.  In addition to helping out the district it also provides an opportunity for the boy scouts to be present and visible to the cub scouts.  We thank you for the consideration and assistance.

The Scout needs to be dressed warmly and in layers\, as they may want to do the run portion of the test in shorts. They should bring water or a sports drink. They should bring a gym towel. SUMMARY:Skating Merit Badge
DESCRIPTION:The Ice Skating Merit Badge is Back! \nThis event will take on Sunday\, March 12th @10a.m. at the Rinx-Port Jefferson\, located at the Village Center in Downtown Port Jefferson Village. \nThe Merit badge has an “On Ice” proponent approximately 1hr. 15 mins.\, which will include some free skating time. \nThere is also an “Off Ice” Skating Safety Review\, and General Skating Rules focus\, along with general skate maintenance and up keep portion that we will cover during the Pizza Party portion of the event. \nIf you have Ice skates\, Great! Bring them along. Otherwise the Skating Rink has Rental Skates. It might also be a good idea to bring along a pair of gloves and a warm hat as we will be outside on the Ice. \nPlease confirm your attendance w/Mr Reed.
