This is our usual Bike Campout at Cathedral Pines in Middle Island.  It is close to people can come and go as they need for other activities.  We will be meeting at the Uncle Giuseppe’s parking lot at 9:00 am on Saturday morning, camping overnight, and coming home late Sunday morning.  This is a perfect opportunity for the first year scouts to do their first campout, and satisfy a rank advancement requirement.  This is a Bike campout, so the boys should bring their bikes along.  Don’t forget their helmets (required) and any protective gear.  There is a very large bike trail that surrounds the camp, and the boys have a lot of fun with it.  We can fit quite a few bikes in the trailer, but if the number of boys attending gets large, we may need some truck help with that.  There have been ticks in the past, so I will be making sure the site is sprayed, and the boys are sprayed.  I will be going over tick prevention and care at the upcoming meetings, and you should be checking them when they come home.  There is a good article in the Boy’s Life they received recently.
